The name takes its inspiration from the J. & J. G. Low Art Tile company which produced decorative glazed ceramic tiles in Chelsea, Massachusetts between 1877-1902. The company went on to win many prestigious awards in Europe for its innovative ceramic glaze techniques and was specified by both Frank Lloyd Wright and H.H. Richardson. We humbly pay homage to the company by producing ceramic tiles in a modern vernacular that still invokes classic styling that is both whimsical and utilitarian from our operational base in Boston, Massachusetts. Our name also suggests that the designs aren't meant to be highbrow or exclusive and that the styles and patterns offered are for use in all facets of design.
